ILFORD ART CLASSES for Adults
I'm absolutely thrilled to share with you that my weekly art classes for adults are now up and running. These art classes take place in my art studio in Ilford, Essex. If you're someone who loves to express themselves creatively or is simply eager to explore something new and exciting, I've got a spot with your name on it:).
These classes are a deep dive into the world of mixed media art. Mixed media art opens up a world of endless possibilities to wake up your inner artist and embrace your creativity. And guess what? You don't need any prior art experience to join in. All you need is your curiosity and enthusiasm to learn something new.
I firmly believe that each one of us has a creative spark within, just waiting to ignite. So don't worry if you've never painted before. You will be surprised by what you can create.
Imagine spending quality time every week surrounded by other creatives, colours, textures, and the sheer joy of creation. This is your chance to tap into your artistic side and let your imagination run wild. Join us to make art, memories, and a whole lot of fun together.
I usually organize all my classes on a half-term basis. This means that every 6 or 7 weeks, we embark on a new theme and dive into exploring a new medium. The best part? All materials are included, so you just need to bring yourself.
Our first theme is titled "Inner Landscapes." It’s called Inner Landscapes because it's not just about mastering new and exciting art techniques or experimenting with different materials. It's a bit more profound than that. What I aim for is to guide my students in discovering more about themselves through art. To be able to express themselves by having fun and being a little kid again. A child, who explores the world with curiosity and excitement.

"3 of us ladies of varying artistic abilities attended Marie's Powertex course in June after originally booking it pre-pandemic. It was SO worth the wait!!!!! Firstly, I, as a complete NON-ARTIST attended purely as the chauffeur on the promise of Strudel. Not only did the homemade strudel not disappoint, but Marie unlocked the artist in me and I couldn't get enough, leaving at the end of the afternoon with a piece I am extremely proud of. My mum and our friend Lynn, are both mixed medium crafters and both left feeling inspired. What amazed me was how different all of our pieces were!!! I expected us all to follow Marie's lead and stick to the ideas all around her beautiful studio, and yet we all created something completely unique and learned clever hacks and techniques along the way. Above all, we all left feeling really relaxed - Powertex is quite a therapeutic medium, along with the chit-chat and laughter we all enjoyed as a group of girls, including Marie, who we felt like we'd known for years! WHERE: Bright Arts Studio, Ilford, IG1 4SF
WHEN: Tuesdays and Thursdays 7pm-9pm
- All the material is provided. You don't need to bring anything to the class.
- Refreshment. Tea or coffee will be offered at the beginning of each class
- All the work created is yours. You will take it home with you.
- Advice on how to display your work properly
Please, note that I am open to adjusting the time of starting. If it's too late for the majority of students, I will be able to start earlier. If it's too early, I will be able to start later.
STUDIO POLICIES
To reserve a space in the above classes, the fee has to be paid per half term or full term in advance. We will only accept bank transfer payments. We can not hold a space unless the fee is paid in advance.
Enrolment is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Classes have limited spaces but there is a waiting list.
We do not offer refunds for missed classes. A refund will be made only if the class is canceled.
Some supplies are messy. Be sure to dress accordingly. Aprons are available. Please ensure that students arrive on time.
