Hello there,
I'm Marie. a mixed media artist, teacher and qualified Powertex tutor living in Ilford, UK. My mission is to create uplifting and inspiring art and to share my knowledge with others on their own creative journey.
Over the last 8 years I have been teaching art classes and workshop from my cosy homebased studio. It's been very inspiring and humbling experience to see the progress of my students, their growth as artists but also realisation of how important art is for their wellbeing.
Currently I am working on setting up an online art membership for artists/creatives who love colour and mixed media art. I am super excited about this new direction as I will be able to help more people to achieve their own creative visions.
For years I have been experimenting with variety of different media and techniques through pastel, inks, acrylic, airbrushing, collage, mark making, oils etc. I am very happy to say that I did. Now I am able to combine all what I have learned, understand different processes and create art that feels like me. Painting and creating is now something that lightens up my soul and gives me clarity and purpose.
My new art collection is in the process of creating. I have been inspired by flowers. For me they are symbol of beauty, strength and femininity. I paint these flower portrait in vibrant colours. Colour make me feel uplifted, inspired and energetic. It has a power to shift my mood and feel good.
Part of my process is combining and layering handmade collage papers, acrylics, and oils together. I also love to merge realism with abstraction. The delicacy and form of flowers are expressed by detailed realistic paintings that seamlessly blend into dreamlike textured and abstracted backgrounds.
